The Legend of Korra - Book 1, Chapter 4: The Voice in the Night (Review)
Reviews Contain Spoilers
In the latest episode of The Legend of Korra, Avatar Korra, after being pressured into it by the press, becomes part of a task force determined to get rid of the equalist movement. Meanwhile, her pro-bending teammate Mako nearly has an auto accident with Asami, the daughter of Hiroshi Sato, the founder of Future Industries, maker of the Satomobile. After learning of his money related worries of not making it to the pro-bending championship, Future Industries decides to sponsor Korra and Mako’s pro-bending team.
After defeating a small group of equalists Korra makes an announcement to equalist leader, Amon, to meet her for a one-on-one battle on Aang Memorial Island. Instead of meeting alone, Amon ambushes her, but instead of taking away her bending abilities he doesn’t and tells her he doesn’t want to make her a martyr. He then knocks her out. After waking up she confronts her mentor, Tenzin, and opens up to him stating how scared she was and how scared she has been of Amon and what has been happening.
I really enjoyed this episode. I like that we see that Korra is flawed and has a lot of learning and growing to do. Like Aang before her she too is afraid of what her final outcome may be. Amon and the equalists grow more and more intimidating and I’m wondering what is going to happen with Mako’s new friend Asami. Also, after being knocked out by Amon, Korra sees a vision of an intense, older-looking Aang (pictured above), as well as Sokka and Toph. What could this vision mean and why was it shown to her? We don’t know but it definitely gets me excited to find out. The show is getting really good.

The Fate of Fringe
We are thrilled and beyond grateful that Fox — and our fans — have made the impossible possible: Fringe will continue into a fifth season that will allow the series to conclude in a wild and thrilling way. (J.J. Abrams on Fringe being renewed for a fifth and final season)
You heard right. Fringe has been renewed for one FINAL season consisting of 13 episodes. Honestly, 5 seasons is a really good run. Sometimes shows stay on the air way too long and end up sucking after awhile. Let’s hope this series ends off well.

The Legend of Korra - Book 1, Chapter 3: The Revelation [Review]
Reviews Contain Spoilers
The Legend of Korra is three episodes in and in this latest episode the plot thickens quite a bit with an ending that is sure to add a lot of tension and danger to the series.
Chapter 3, The Revelation, begins with Korra and her pro-bending teammates, Bolin and Mako, trying to figure out how to make money to enter a pro-bending championship. In an effort to raise the funds needed, Bolin takes a job offer from one of the bending gangs in town and then disappears soon after.
Mako and Korra go looking for Bolin and after learning more about The Equalists, a movement set on ending the era of benders, they discover details on an Equalist event and take it as their best shot at finding Bolin. There they see the leader of The Equalists, Amon (pictured above), who reveals to the crowd of fellow bender protesters that he has the ability to remove the power of bending, a skill only ever possessed by Aang, the previous Avatar. He proves this by taking away the bending abilities from three benders and almost removes Bolin’s earth bending abilities before Korra and Mako rescue him.
So far I’m really enjoying the series. The story is great and is a completely different twist on the story from the first series, Avatar: The Last Airbender. The animation and action scenes have definitely improved, also. The only thing is I really want the characters to be fleshed out a little more. I know that this is only the third episode, and while I do like the characters, sometimes they just make me miss the old team of Aang, Sokka, Katara, and Toph. But I remain hopeful that with more episodes I will learn to love these new characters almost as much as the ones from the first series.
I really enjoyed the way The Revelation ended. It added such a dark twist on the Avatar mythology. I’m really looking forward to seeing what this plot point adds to the series.
